Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to build and maintain routes for autonomous operations in the resources and infrastructure industries, including establishing, reviewing and adjusting travel paths for autonomous systems.It applies to those working in sitebased roles. They generally work under minimal supervision to undertake a broad range of tasks in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement in applying investigative and corrective actions.Licensing, legislative and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors. Users must check requirements with relevant body before applying the unit.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare to build and maintain routes for autonomous operations
- 1.1 Obtain, interpret, confirm and clarify work instructions
- 1.2 Identify and confirm autonomous systems and components involved in work activity
- 1.3 Access, interpret and apply documentation required to build and maintain routes for autonomous operations and confirm work activity is compliant
- 1.4 Identify and confirm own role and responsibility in autonomous operations value chain according to organisational requirements
- 1.5 Select and wear personal protective equipment according to site requirements
- 1.6 Select and obtain tools and equipment required for work activity in proximity to autonomous systems and components
- 1.7 Obtain permits and clearances according to job and site requirements
- 1.8 Identify potential risks and hazards, implement control measures within scope of own role, and escalate where required
- 1.9 Obtain and interpret emergency procedures and identify steps required to respond to emergencies
- 1.10 Coordinate and communicate planned activities with other personnel in work area according to site requirements
2. Establish and review routes for autonomous operations
- 2.1 Identify requirements for, and implement personal protective zone according to manufacturer specifications and site requirements
- 2.2 Visually inspect geology, survey site and document results and site parameters for planned autonomous operations according to manufacturer specifications and job and site requirements
- 2.3 Monitor risks and hazards, implement control measures within scope of own role, and escalate where required
- 2.4 Coordinate work activities within scope of own role and communicate to others
- 2.5 Establish travel path for autonomous system in consultation with required personnel according to manufacturer specifications and job and site requirements
- 2.6 Review autonomous system travel path design in consultation with required personnel, confirm virtual site parameters reflect physical site parameters, and adjust or escalate where required
3. Monitor and adjust routes for autonomous operations
- 3.1 Monitor operations on autonomous system travel path design according to manufacturer specifications, job, scope of own role and site requirements
- 3.2 Review safety, efficiency and effectiveness of autonomous system travel path and adjust design or escalate where required
4. Conduct housekeeping activities
- 4.1 Complete records and documentation according to site requirements
- 4.2 Report potential risks and hazards according to site requirements and escalate where required
- 4.3 Identify opportunities to optimise safety, efficiency and effectiveness of autonomous operations within scope of own role, and escalate where required
