Description
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to coordinate the erection and dismantling of temporary facilities.It includes planning the erection of temporary facilities, erecting temporary facilities as planned, and dismantling temporary facilities after bump-out in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures.Work is performed under some supervision, generally within a team/group environment. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Plan erection of temporary facility
- 1.1 A needs analysis is conducted to determine type of structure required to suit terrain available, duration of need, climate expected and purpose
- 1.2 Communication with relevant stakeholders is maintained to meet project needs
- 1.3 Plans, storage specifications, assembly details and erection sequence are obtained and examined for accuracy to meet intended storage requirements
- 1.4 Engineering drawings, computations and instructions are obtained from qualified persons, as required
- 1.5 Local and state/territory authority approvals for facility construction are obtained
- 1.6 Hazards are identified, risks are assessed and control measures communicated and implemented
- 1.7 Labour and equipment requirements for storage facility construction are organised and scheduled in accordance with erection sequence
2 Erect temporary facility
- 2.1 Foundations and earthworks requirements are prepared in accordance with workplace instructions and specifications
- 2.2 Structural components are assembled and placed in accordance with workplace instructions and specifications
- 2.3 Protective sheeting (floor and wall) is placed and sealed/sewn in accordance with workplace specifications
- 2.4 Labour and equipment are coordinated for timely and efficient completion of work
3 Dismantle temporary facility after bump-out
- 3.1 Procedures for dismantling temporary facility, including sequencing of processes, are confirmed with qualified personnel
- 3.2 Labour and equipment requirements for dismantling temporary facility are organised and scheduled
- 3.3 Material is removed from the facility in accordance with workplace procedures
- 3.4 Protective sheeting (floor and wall) is dismantled and folded for future use or disposed of in accordance with workplace procedures
- 3.5 Structural components are disassembled, transported and stacked in accordance with workplace instructions
- 3.6 Labour and equipment are coordinated for timely and efficient completion of work
