Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Prepare equipment for mooring operations
  • 1.1 Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is selected and assembled in accordance with workplace procedures
  • 1.2 Equipment is located, selected, and made ready in accordance with workplace procedures to achieve safe and efficient operations
  • 1.3 Routine pre-operational checks are carried out in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures
  • 1.4 Non-operational equipment is tagged out, and reported to appropriate personnel
  • 1.5 Hazards are identified and control measures are applied in accordance with workplace procedures and reported
2 Operate mechanicalmooring equipment
  • 2.1 Equipment is operated in a safe and controlled manner within defined operating limits and in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer's instructions
  • 2.2 Equipment failure is identified, and action is taken and reported in accordance with workplace procedures (as required)
3 Complete equipment shut down
  • 3.1 Equipment is shut down in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures
  • 3.2 Defective, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment is tagged out, recorded, and reported in accordance with workplace procedures
  • 3.3 All required documentation is completed in accordance with workplace procedures
