This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research and experiment with a broad range of ceramic techniques to refine and evaluate an individual professional style. Experimentation might involve a deeper engagement with throwing, glazing, moulding or hand building techniques but not to a specialist level.It applies to highly skilled visual artists who integrate the use of those different techniques explored, to realise a coherent body of creative work which could include functional items or art pieces.
