Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Determine repair requirements
  • 1.1 Textile product fault is identified.
  • 1.2 Requirements for repair of textile product are determined and specifications for repair task documented.
2 Prepare for repair of textile product
  • 2.1 Textile product is prepared in appropriate manner for repair.
  • 2.2 Yarn, fabric or raw materials required for the repair task are identified and prepared.
  • 2.3 Machinery, equipment and tools required for the repair task are assembled and checked.
  • 2.4 Plan for the repair task is developed.
3 Undertake textile product repair
  • 3.1 Repair is undertaken to restore textile product to the standard specified using a range of techniques and materials, as required.
  • 3.2 Textile product is checked against specifications and appropriate quality standards, and adjustments made as required.
  • 3.3 Textile product is prepared for storage or transferred to the appropriate work section, as required.
  • 3.4 Paperwork and documentation is prepared.
