This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to rough-in water systems in recreational vehicles including installing water tanks (such as freshwater, greywater and blackwater tanks) and roughing-in pipes (such as water tubes, drain lines and vent tubes) from water supply points to drainage points. It also describes the skills and knowledge required to fit-off water systems in recreational vehicles, including installing fittings (such as fill ports, filters, pumps, shower heads, spouts, stop taps and other taps, strainers, toilets and traps) and testing the water system.The unit applies to a person working in a recreational vehicle manufacturing facility who undertakes routine tasks according to job instructions, plans/specifications and procedures and with discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services and contingency measures. They work with a high degree of self-direction and limited supervision. They apply known solutions to routine problems and report non-routine problems according to procedures. They are responsible for their output and have limited responsibility for the output of others.Licensing and/or certification requirements may apply to some or all of this unit’s elements, depending on the state/territory.
