This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manufacture and assemble custom and flat-pack furniture (such as bed bases, bunks, fridge units, cupboard carcasses [for overhead, kitchen, wardrobe, rear and other cupboards], partitions and seat bases in recreational vehicles). The unit includes manufacturing and assembling furniture components and subassemblies to make carcasses and similar items before being installed in a recreational vehicle. They work with a high degree of self-direction and limited supervision. They apply known solutions to routine problems and report non-routine problems according to procedures.
