Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage the format and results of golf competitions and tournaments. It focuses on planning and implementing golf events according to golf guidelines and requirements.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and establish the format and criteria for a specified competition.
- 1.1 Identify a range of competition formats.
- 1.2 Select a competition format that meets the objectives of the competition, the rules and regulations of golf and the requirements of the organising body or host facility.
- 1.3. Determine eligibility of participants in consultation with the organising body according to the rules and regulations of golf.
- 1.4 Convey criteria for participation to potential participants.
- 1.5 Encourage potential participants to clarify eligibility criteria as required.
- 1.6 Establish registration systems and procedures and notify relevant personnel.
2. Implement the format for a specified competition.
- 2.1 Prepare a draw or timesheet and distribute to all relevant stakeholders.
- 2.2 Establish draw modification guidelines in consultation with appropriate personnel and distribute to all stakeholders.
- 2.3 Modify the draw if required, document amendments according to the rules and regulations of golf and distribute to all stakeholders.
- 2.4 Identify local rules and make alterations as required in conjunction with the local competition or tournament committee and communicate appropriately to all participants.
- 2.5 Clarify roles and responsibilities of competition or tournament officials and communicate to participants as appropriate.
- 2.6 Provide in-competition support to participants.
3. Process and record the results of a specified competition.
- 3.1 Process individual or group scores.
- 3.2 Record decisions received about disqualifications and penalties or complaints and communicate outcomes to participants affected by such decisions, according to the rules and regulations of golf.
- 3.3 Process and document results according to requirements of the organising body.
- 3.4 Communicate results to all individuals within an appropriate timeframe.
- 3.5 Advise participants about subsequent alterations to handicaps where appropriate.
4. Evaluate planning and management of tournament or competition.
- 4.1 Seek and acknowledge feedback from relevant stakeholders involved in the tournament or competition.
- 4.2 Evaluate all relevant components of the tournament or competition and identify potential areas of improvement for future competitions.
- 4.3 Review own performance and identify potential improvements.

evaluate and reflect on own work performance to identify ways in which tournaments and competitions can be better structured and managed.
