This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research technical subject matter and prepare and present a technical report of findings. It involves identifying and analysing research requirements, planning and conducting research, evaluating findings, and developing and presenting the technical report.The unit applies to those working in the automotive service and repair industry at a specialist technician or manager level. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1. Determine research requirements
