Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Confirm logistics requirements
  • 1.1 Resource requirements are clarified.
  • 1.2 Location of resources required is confirmed.
  • 1.3 Requests are verified and authority is confirmed.
  • 1.4 Resource requirements are documented/logged, in accordance with agency requirements.
2. Procure logistics logged
  • 2.1 Database is interrogated.
  • 2.2 Currency of database is maintained.
  • 2.3 Agency reference material is used, as appropriate.
  • 2.4 Other agencies are contacted for resources as necessary.
  • 2.5 Predetermined supplier list is accessed as required.
  • 2.6 Appropriate resource is located.
  • 2.7 Field is advised of procured resource/s.
3. Deploy logistics
  • 3.1 Deployment method/s are determined and arranged.
  • 3.2 Deployed logistics are tracked.
  • 3.3 Feedback from the field is investigated and actioned where possible.
  • 3.4 Documentation is completed as required.

Method of assessment
In a public safety environment assessment is usually conducted via direct observation in a training environment or in the workplace via subject matter supervision and/or mentoring, which is typically recorded in a competency workbook.
Assessment is completed using appropriately qualified assessors who select the most appropriate method of assessment.
Assessment may occur in an operational environment or in an industry-approved simulated work environment. Forms of assessment that are typically used include:
direct observation
interviewing the candidate
journals and workplace documentation
third party reports from supervisors
written or oral questions.
