This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to apply and monitor the site stockpile management plan in Civil construction, Coal and Metalliferous mining and Extractive.This unit is appropriate for those working in supervisory roles.No licensing or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Plan and prepare for stockpile management
- 1.1 Access, interpret and apply stockpiling operations documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- 1.2 Access and share with team members the geological and survey data required to complete the site stockpile management task
- 1.3 Prepare an action plan, in consultation with team members, which makes best use of the available resource and takes into account the requirements of the site stockpile management plan
- 1.4 Acquire and make available the necessary resources for the safe, effective and efficient conduct of site stockpile management task
- 1.5 Identify hazards associated with the stockpile management operation, evaluate risks and apply controls
- 1.6 Issue clear and timely instructions to team members and others involved for the safe, effective and efficient conduct in the site stockpile management tasks
- 1.7 Identify individual training needs and develop training plans
2. Apply and monitor stockpile management plan
- 2.1 Ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of tasks
- 2.2 Monitor site stockpile management plan performance, and ensure achievement of planned outcomes
- 2.3 Initiate adjustments to work programs to take into account non-achievement of planned outcomes
- 2.4 Assess the impacts of equipment and systems on work processes and record and report on outcomes
- 2.5 Apply and monitor procedures for reviewing and modifying work processes
- 2.6 Participate in systems audit and review requirements
- 2.7 Apply training plans and monitor outcomes
3. Report on stockpile management plan
- 3.1 Complete and submit reports as required
- 3.2 Submit reasoned recommendations to improve the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of the systems
