This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to carry out waste process audits to meet client requirements. The unit covers consulting with clients and site personnel to identify the audit objectives, and negotiate and agree on audit processes and site requirements to minimise disruption to processes and operations. The unit also covers identifying and managing hazards and risk at the audit site, and conducting a waste process audit including quantifying, characterising and sourcing waste streams and processes, and interviewing site personnel to gather additional operational information.
