This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to mix and pump polymeric chemicals in underground coal mining. 1. Prepare and plan to mix and pump polymeric chemicals
  • 1.1 Obtain, interpret, confirm and clarify work instructions
  • 1.2 Access, interpret and apply documentation required to mix and pump polymeric chemicals in underground coal mining and confirm work activity is compliant
  • 1.3 Select and wear personal protective equipment according to site requirements
  • 1.4 Select equipment and tools required for work activity and check for faults
  • 1.5 Identify potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, implement control measures within scope of own role, and escalate where required

4. Mix, pump and monitor polymeric chemicals

  • 4.3 Monitor equipment performance using indicators according to manufacturer specifications and site requirements
