Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to make a contribution to planning a population health project.The contribution focuses on working from an existing project plan to develop the detail, such as a timetable for implementing strategies, evaluation and budget.This unit applies to work in a public health context and workers at this level will work under supervision and within defined guidelines.The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

1. Plan implementation of strategies
  • 1.1 Identify existing plan and related goals and objectives
  • 1.2 Identify project strategies from project plan
  • 1.3 Identify tasks to be undertaken to implement strategies in consultation with relevant personnel
  • 1.4 Timetable tasks to be undertaken to implement strategies in consultation with relevant personnel
  • 1.5 Source resources required to implement strategy
  • 1.6 Calculate cost of tasks to be undertaken
2. Plan implementation of evaluation tasks
  • 2.1 Identify project evaluation measures from the project plan
  • 2.2 Identify, in consultation with relevant personnel, tasks to be undertaken to collect data using the identified evaluation measures
  • 2.3 Timetable, in consultation with relevant personnel, tasks to be undertaken to collect data using the identified evaluation measures
  • 2.4 Source resources required to collect data using measures identified
  • 2.5 Calculate cost of evaluation tasks to be undertaken
3. Present planning information
  • 3.1 Select appropriate methods of presenting planning information on the basis of planner needs
  • 3.2 Present information logically and include references to relevant data and sources to support assertions
