This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to use cleaning equipment, chemicals and materials to remove soil from external surfaces. It covers assessing the extent of the cleaning task; selecting required equipment, chemicals and cleaning methods; and performing the task safely from ground level using extension poles if height access is required.The unit supports cleaners who work alone or in teams. It applies in a range of commercial and residential work sites. The unit does not apply to specialised cleaning of sandstone and heritage buildings.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement.
