Description
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to monitor the production processes of a licensed medicinal cannabis site for compliance with regulatory, quality and record-keeping requirements.The unit applies to individuals at the supervisory or managerial level and who are responsible for ensuring workplace operations comply with the regulatory and quality requirements of a controlled growing, licensed medicinal cannabis facility. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1. Monitor and review production processes for compliance with regulatory requirements
  • 1.1 Identify and access current legislation, regulations, standards and regulatory body information relevant to licensed cultivators and manufacturers of medicinal cannabis
  • 1.2 Identify consequences of non-compliance with legislation, regulations and standards
  • 1.3 Monitor own work practices and those of others to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and standards
  • 1.4 Review workplace policies and procedures for effectiveness in complying with legislation, regulations and standards
2. Implement and monitor Good Practices Standards for production of medicinal cannabis
  • 2.1 Establish quality practices and specifications for production of medicinal cannabis
  • 2.2 Identify hazards, assess risks and determine critical control limits, measures and corrective actions for production processes
  • 2.3 Contribute to the development of procedures for each identified control limit, measure and corrective action to ensure optimum quality and minimise hazards and risks
  • 2.4 Allocate responsibilities and instructions for carrying out procedures to staff and contractors
  • 2.5 Provide staff and contractors with training on the quality standards policies and procedures in the area of responsibilities
  • 2.6 Monitor day-to-day operations for effectiveness of quality standards procedures
  • 2.7 Investigate, evaluate and record production deviations as required
3. Manage recording and reporting requirements
  • 3.1 Identify recording and reporting requirements of licensed cultivators and manufacturers of medicinal cannabis
  • 3.2 Monitor regulatory recording and reporting requirements for activities relating to supply, traceability, storage, and disposal and destruction of medicinal cannabis
  • 3.3 Maintain recording requirements and completion to support quality standards
