Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Determine requirements
  • 1.1 Footwear product is inspected for areas requiring repair and deviations from job specifications and quality standards.
  • 1.2 Requirements for repair of footwear product are determined and specifications for repair task are documented.
  • 1.3 Repair work is planned according to time and resources available.
2 Prepare for repair
  • 2.1 Materials required for repair task are assembled and checked for compliance with job specifications.
  • 2.2 Machinery, equipment, tools and materials required for repair task are assembled and checked for readiness for use.
  • 2.3 Any faults in equipment or tools are addressed to ensure readiness for use.
  • 2.4 Footwear product is prepared to ensure readiness for repair.
3 Undertake repair
  • 3.1 Repair is undertaken to restore footwear to standard specified using a range of techniques and materials and according to OHS practices.
  • 3.2 Footwear product is checked against specifications and appropriate quality standards and adjustments are made as required.
  • 3.3 Once adjustments are made, footwear product is returned to production line, prepared for storage or transferred to appropriate work section, as required.
  • 3.4 Paperwork and documentation is completed.
