This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to develop waste management strategies to meet client requirements. The unit covers assessing client needs and waste practices and identifying and assessing options for waste management. This includes conducting a feasibility analysis of identified waste management options to ensure greater emphasis on the most important waste management issues, and devising strategies which are realistic and achievable and satisfy client and legal compliance requirements. The unit requires client consultation while developing and finalising waste management strategies and while planning implementation strategies including personnel requirements.
