This unit specifies the skills required to analyse and apply knowledge of work health and safety (WHS) legislation for safety cases.It includes accessing and interpreting relevant WHS legislation; and reporting on WHS legislation as it relates to safety cases.This unit applies to Defence workers involved in WHS for safety cases but is applicable to all individuals who work in this fieldThe skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Persons undertaking this unit work independently and as part of a team under direct and indirect supervision, and perform routine tasks in familiar context.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1 Access and interpret relevant WHS legislation information
- 1.1 Obtain WHS legislation requirements
- 1.2 Analyse WHS legislation information to determine application to the organisation
- 1.3 Formulate recommendations from analysis of WHS legislation
2 Report on WHS legislation as it relates to safety cases
- 2.1 Gather information from relevant sources and financial management information systems
- 2.2 Draft report based on information gathered and recommendations formulated
- 2.3 Identify and investigate anomalies in the report and seek clarification from subject matter expert/s as required
- 2.4 Finalise report and submit to relevant personnel
