Description
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to create the required views for an enterprise architecture framework to permit its implementation by various elements of the organisation.It includes creating common operational systems and technical views for a specific business architecture.This unit applies to persons working in an enterprise architecture practice for Defence but may be applicable to anyone in this field.The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.Persons undertaking this unit work autonomously and perform sophisticated tasks in familiar contexts.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Elements and Performance Criteria
1 Create common views for a specific business architecture
- 1.1 Identify and summarise relevant information for a specific business architecture
- 1.2 Prepare an architecture compliance statement
- 1.3 Prepare a capability maturity profile in consultation with stakeholders
2 Create operational views for a specific business architecture
- 2.1 Develop descriptions for a high-level operational concept and operational node connectivity
- 2.2 Prepare an operational information exchange matrix
- 2.3 Prepare a command relationship chart and obtain stakeholder agreement
- 2.4 Model business activities, relationships between activities, inputs and outputs
- 2.5 Develop the business activity sequence and timing in accordance with organisational requirements and critical timings
- 2.6 Develop a logical data model of the business activity and obtain stakeholder agreement
3 Create systems views for a specific business architecture
- 3.1 Prepare systems descriptions and matrices, and obtain stakeholder agreement, as required
- 3.2 Prepare systems technology forecast and obtain agreement
- 3.3 Model systems rules for the business architecture
- 3.4 Model the physical implementation of the logical data model of the business activity to capture systems requirements
- 3.5 Implement the logical data model of the business activity and demonstrate it to capture systems requirements
4 Create technical views for a specific business architecture
- 4.1 Create a technical systems profile, and gauge support levels required for the development of the intended system in consultation with stakeholders
- 4.2 Develop an information technology strategy for intended system development
- 4.3 Derive enterprise information technology performance requirements from enterprise business requirements to allow standards, configurations and product development
- 4.4 Create a technology standards description/forecast in accordance with business guidelines
