This unit of competency describes the outcomes required to implement and continuously improve innovative thinking and practice in any forestry industry context and to operations of all sizes. It applies to job roles including managers who oversee business areas, processes or teams and they may use innovative thinking and practice to advance business processes.No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1. Identify opportunities to stimulate innovative thinking and creativity
- 1.1 Integrate and apply current innovative practice and organisational trends to the development of experiences for innovative thinking and creativity in an organisation.
- 1.2 Analyse operational issues and conditions as a stimulus for innovative thinking and creativity.
- 1.3 Identify opportunities to initiate and manage individual and collective innovative thinking and creativity activities based on operational analysis.
- 1.4 Apply workplace methods and tools for generating new ideas and innovative thinking.
2. Manage innovative practices
- 2.1 Review, challenge and refine own management style and practice to model and support innovation.
