Description
This course reflects the role of a plumber who is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining water services, sanitary plumbing and sanitary drainage, gas, roofing, and mechanical services in both existing and new constructions. Occupational titles could include:
- Plumber
Completion of this course indicates that an overseas qualified plumber has the practical skills and operational knowledge to perform routine plumbing tasks in an Australian context.
This course includes units of competency from the CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements apply to Plumbing in Western Australia and other States and Territories. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or its replacement) meets this requirement.
Schedule
A Statement of Attainment will be issued for any unit of competency or module completed if the full course is not completed.
In addition to the units of competence the student must provide evidence of: Workplace Learning\Supervision.
A minimum of 500 hours of workplace learning should be demonstrated in a period of no less than eight months.
Evidence shall include a logbook completed by the learner and authorised by supervising Plumbing Tradespersons or Contractors Licence holder and the RTO.
