State Implementation and Classification
Description
To provide the pre-apprentice with off-the-job technical training in the
overview, primary and selected secondary national modules in the trades of
Breadmaking, Pastrycooking and Baking.
To provide skill development in the more common aspects of the Breadmaking,
Pastrycooking and Baking trades as far as possible, to equal the abilities of
an industrial apprentice who has completed one year of an apprenticeship.

VET Info Notes
To be eligible for the Certificate of
Pre-Apprenticeship Studies, the student must gain a
pass standard in each module of the Certificate.
2 NEW APPRENTICE TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT SCHEME (NATAS)
For an apprentice to be eligible for a DEPARTMENT OF
TRAINING TRADE CERTIFICATE, the apprentice must have
achieved the competencies as determined by the rules
of the appropriate Trade Training Schedule (TTS).
Achievement of college-listed competencies for each
apprentice, as listed in the TTS, is to be recorded
on the appropriate Trade Training Schedule
Assessment forms.
The Office of Industrial Training (OIT) will require
a complete College assessment report at the
conclusion of the apprentice's College training.
This report is to be forwarded to OIT prior to the
close of College business in the year of completion.
