Description
The Certificate IV in Visual Art/Craft provides training for intermediate positions in art and craft vocations. Learners may select pathways in painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Printmedia or Electronic Art. Studio skills are developed through direct investigation of techniques and materials, which form an essential component of the learning experience.
Core modules in Drawing, Art History and Theory develop competencies in applying art terminology and critical approaches to art production and presentation. Studio training focuses learners on developing problem-solving strategies to fulfil individual and collaborative projects. Students participate in discussion, articulate responses to a range of art and craft practices, and examine their own imagery and ideas within a wider cultural framework.
