Description

To provide learners living and working in remote communities with accredited
competency based training and assessment in the skills required for the daily
operation and maintenance of essential services.

Essential services are defined as:

Power
-
Power generation equipment and its reticulation facilities

Water
-
Bores pumps and equipment associated with water supply, storage and reticulation

Waste Water Services -
Equipment for waste water management and disposal.

Graduates will be able to identify faults of a more complex nature requiring
skills beyond the scope of this course and be competent to make the site safe
and, accurately report faults to the relevant authority for further action.

The course allows for the inclusion of additional elective modules to meet
specific needs of either community, employer or trainee e.g. housing
maintenance and outboard motor maintenance.
