Description
To provide the skills and knowledge required to design and develop products for a variety of different industries and applications. On successful completion of the course the student will be able to create, investigate, experiment and initiate ideas - from preliminary designs to commerciallly viable product. It will be a project driven and flexibly delivered course with every unit lending itself to the development and implementation of the student's ideas. The course will develop entrepreneurial, problem solving, design and creative skills while the students are working on their own and other's real projects in the 'incubator" environment of the Central Design Centre.
Students will also be required to demonstrate competency in the application of small business and marketing principles, working as part of a team and managing a project. The course will provide students with sufficient practical competencies and skills that could lead to employment or further study.
