Students will develop the skills to install and use a range of software
applications. They will also be able to use application manuals and on-line
help facilities effectively. Occupational health and safety issues are
addressed and communication skills in writing, team work and client interaction
are developed.

Students enrolling in this course will acquire microcomputing skills and
utilise them in the workplaces where microcomputing is an essential component.
While national competency standards in information technology do not exist at
present, graduates of this course will be capable of performing skills
equivalent to the ASF levels 1-2. This level corresponds with a competent
skilled autonomous worker.

The Certificate II of Information Technology will provide a pathway to further
education and training in business and information technology and related
vocations.
