State Implementation and Classification
Description
The purpose of the Certificate in Polymer Processing course is to provide a
training career pathway for personnel in the polymer industry with the
appropriate knowledge and skills to capably handle applications within
specialist processing areas.
The course aims to develop the operator's competency in:
-machine operation and polymer processing or manufacturing applications within
a specialist processing stream
-knowledge of the behaviour and applications of polymer materials and components
-maintaining and improving the quality of product
-basic servicing, maintaining and preparing machines, dies and process working
equipment
-providing assistance to supervisors, technical and professional staff in
solving machine, processing and tooling problems
-application of occupational health and safety principles in the workplace
-training and supervision of operators employed at lower skill level
classifications.
