State Implementation and Classification
Description
To provide practical experience in the application and use of common desktop
publishing software packages, including illustration, business graphics and
lettering programs in the Graphic Arts industry
To provide practical experience in the application and use of the fundamental
typography and layout skills essential in desktop publishing within the Graphic
Arts industry.
To provide students with a working understanding of the printing industry
structure and its various printing processes.
To provide an ability to evaluate the requirements of various input and output
peripherals and to initiate the correct reproduction controls for DTP.
To provide an ability to evaluate colour requirements and specify needs for
their application in desktop colour.
To provide familiarisation with computers and their operating procedures.
