Description
Aims: Levels 1 and 2
On completion of level 1 and 2 modules, learners will be able to use language, literacy and numeracy in familiar and supportive environments to:
- Engage in simple and practical tasks of direct relevance to work, training and personal life.
- Operate in small groups.
- Express personal needs, contexts and interests.
- Access essential training, work, social and community systems.
- Use common technology for work and training purposes.
Aims: Level 3:
On completion of the Certificate core, learners will be able to use language, literacy and numeracy skills in a wider range of social, training and employment contexts to:
- Explore a range of learning styles, strategies and resources.
- Read and understand basic signs and information.
- Work or study co-operatively in a group.
- Read a range of texts for personal, work and community life.
- Solve practical problems involving whole and decimal numbers, calculation and measurement.
- Access specific communication technologies.

Core Group - Complete All Core Units (Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students)

PLUS:
Option 1 a minimum of 140 hours from the level 3 electives
OR
Option 2 a minimum of 80 hours from the level 3 electives plus 60 hours of vocational
electives, accredited modules or endorsed competencies from other qualifications. Full-time students
undertaking this option must negotiate arrangements prior to commencing the course and provide adequate
documentation of satisfactory completion.
