Description
This is one of a series of courses which aims to provide learners with vocational qualifications that are nationally recognised by both the automotive industry and recognition authorities. It is intended that this series will be used as a basis for employment within the automotive industry and/or further education and training.
This course specifically aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills of the Automotive Services industry (Brake and Underbody), so that they are able to perform "competencies (which) are normally used within established routines, methods and procedures, in some cases involving discretion and judgement about possible actions. (Where) work is likely to be under routine supervision with intermittent checking". ASF level 2 National Competency Standards, Policy and Guidelines, Second Edition (1992), p.17.
