Description
To provide communication, literacy and technical competencies to support child care workers to manage their professional activities effectively.

NOTE: This module is the National General
Curriculum Options 3 from the Certificate of
General Education for Adults (CGEA) but has
been customised for 6985 Certificate III of
Children's Services (0-5 Years) and 9709
Certificate IV of Children's Services (Home
Based Child Care).
Range of Variables
The focus of this module for the purposes of the Certificate III of Children's Services (0-5 Years) Course No. 6985 and the Certificate IV of Children's Services (Home Based Child Care) 9709 is upon the workplace competencies.

To gain a Statement of Attainment for this module a minimum of three of the (Mayer) competencies must be achieved. For the purposes of this course the technology, communication and collecting, analysing and organising information elements should be the major focus of competency attainment.

Individual and/or group literacy and numeracy skills needs should be identified in this module and addressed through appropriate adult language and literacy strategies of delivery.
