Description
To prepare workers in the children's services industry, to perform those competencies required of a child care giver at Level 1/2 of the Western Australian Long Day Care Competency Standards (August, 1992), and to provide the learner with workplace written and oral communication skills
The course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills which will enable them to participate in the delivery of a range of childrens' services, in the position of assistant to a Qualified Child Care Giver or equivalent.

Child Care Supervised Field Placement 190 Hours The following seven field placement modules will all be conducted on the job, with industry based and college based workplace assessors. They must be undertaken in a long day care centre, and/or occasional care, and multipurpose centres. Focus is on the 0-5 age group and ALL modules must be successfully completed.
