Description
To effectively maintain a healthy environment for children aged 0-5 years, in group care settings including centre based and home based care.
Range of Variables
1 The theoretical knowledge underpinning the
practical skills of this module is covered
in the module 50443 'Health and Hygiene for
Group Care 1'.




2 The outcomes of this module must be
demonstrated on-the-job therefore completion
of this module is dependent upon the
student having access to a Supervised Field
Placement (SFP).

The SFP must be in a children's service that
provides care for children between the ages
of 0 to 5 years of age, for example, long
day care, occasional child care,
multipurpose centre, home-based care, and is
appropriate for the course the student is
enrolled in.

3 The placement and assessment of students on
SFP in Certificate IV of Children's Services
(Home Based Child Care) must follow the
Evidence Guide
Assessment should be carried out by both the training provider and the centre/scheme staff.

Practical demonstration on-the-job.
