Description
To introduce learners to fundamental design
principles and processes within a culturally
specific Aboriginal artistic practice.
Range of Variables
Intended teaching strategy to include:

Design principles and processes should be considered in terms of the traditional language of symbols and marks and should relate to Aboriginal themes.

Flexible mode of delivery to allow for exhibition and studio visits.

Issues relating to the ethical responsibilities of Aboriginal artists should be delivered by a relevant community member of appropriate authority.

Recognition to be given to different levels of traditional knowledge available to tutors and students dependent on position in the community, gender, age, locale and obligations.

Awareness of health and safety issues, practice preparation, cleaning of materials and equipment, respect for facilities and responsibility for the well being of others.
