This unit describes the limited mathematical skills and knowledge required to apply numeracy skills in extremely simple, familiar contexts and explicit key mathematical information required to navigate everyday tasks.

The unit of competency is applied by individuals who use numerical processes for personal purposes or as a pathway to education or work.

This unit targets Numeracy at ACSF Pre level 1B.

Elements and Performance Criteria
Recognise and order whole number values up to 100
  • 1.1 Match 0 to 100 numerals with oral name
  • 1.2 Count forward by 1 to 100
  • 1.3 Identify number before and number after up to 100
  • 1.4 Identify place value for ones and tens
  • 1.5 Order Australian whole dollar notes and coins in increasing value
  • 1.6 Order three whole numbers between 1 and 100 in increasing value
  • 1.7 Identify first, second, third
Add and subtract two whole number amounts up to a total of 100 or less
  • 2.1 Add two whole numbers up to a total of 100 or less (with no carrying)
  • 2.2 Subtract a whole number from a total of 100 or less (without borrowing)
  • 2.3 Add two whole dollar monetary amounts, up to a total of $100 or less (with no carrying)
