This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to promote children’s creativity, self-expression and cultural understandings through artistic activity.

This unit of competency is applied by educators who use their knowledge of child development to plan and provide experiences that enable children to explore aspects of their culture through art and craft, music, dance, drama and literature.

1 Provide resources that reflect the spiritual and cultural identities of children
  • 1.1 Select resources that support children’s spiritual identity
  • 1.2 Provide time within the daily schedule for children to practise their religious beliefs
  • 1.3 Provide creative materials that incorporate a wide range of colours for the children to work with
