Description
To provide comprehensive training to equip students
as proficient audio-typists in office and reporting
work. Students will require a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm in order to
simulate the role of an audio-typist and produce mailable/useable copy at the
production rate required for this level of work. The student needs to be able
to follow a task through to completion, despite setbacks and interruptions,
thus displaying stamina, productivity and initiative.

A recorded examination tape, for use on an
individual transcription machine to be used.
Duration of tape approximately 50 minutes. Total
content of tape excluding introduction, practice
piece and instructions to be approximately 1500
words containing business material presented as
office-style dictation. One question to be
presented as verbatim-style dictation.
An English Language dictionary and correcting
devices are permitted to assist candidates in
producing mailable or useable work. Carbon copies
and envelopes are not required in the examination.
A detailed marking guide will be provided by the
examiner for each question on the tape.
