Description
To equip students to develop a body of conceptual and operational skills
consistent with the role of personal assistant in direct support of
professionals and upper management, thus enabling graduates to responsibly
participate in organisational and decision-making processes which recognise the
importance of the role of the secretary as an administrative assistant.
To meet the individual's goals, aspirations and abilities by providing a number
of elective and specialist areas as consistent with a career path in office
support and administration.
To cover the requirements for membership for the Institute of Professional
Secretaries.

2. ELECTIVES
1 No less than five electives and a minimum of 340 hours to be selected from Group 1 and Group 3 subjects. The Group 3 electives are for students who have not completed preferred subjects identified in the course selection criteria. 2 Students to choose subjects from Group 2 electives to total 452 hours. 3 One or two electives to a total of 68 hours, may be selected from an Associate Diploma from another study area, to replace one or two electives (to a total of 68 hours) from either the Group 1 or 2 electives.
