Description
To increase operator's conceptual and practical knowledge of desktop publishing
software capabilities.

To enable the operator to use a desktop publishing package efficiently on a
computer.

To apply basic principles of layout to produce a range of professionally
finished documents in the form of single and multi-page catalogues, flyers,
posters, notices with tear-off slips, brochures, menus and catalogues.

Paper 1 - Practical Paper 40% -
produce a one-page INVITATION, FLYER, POSTER or
NOTICE with tear-off attachment (containing text and
graphics) (from official TAFE Item Bank).

Paper 2 - Practical Paper 60% -
produce a multi-page multi-column MENU, BROCHURE or
CATALOGUE (containing text and graphics) (from official TAFE Item Bank).

Practical Paper 1 - (portrait)
INVITATION, FLYER, POSTER or NOTICE with tear-off
attachment.
One hour's duration - one page to include word-processed text and one graphic
or picture, boxed text or border which contains no more than 60 words.

Practical Paper 2 - (landscape)
MENU, BROCHURE or NOTICE
Two hour's duration - multi-page, multi-column, using word-processed text. To
include at least three graphics or pictures, boxed text, borders and lines.
