Description
To develop skills of business communications at an
advanced level, i.e. complex letters, formal
reports, formal meetings.

Examination 60%

Students must pass both the internal assessment and
the examination.

Internal Assessment

Oral Communication Skills 10%

Demonstrate competent use of techniques listed in
2.1, by giving an oral presentation of approximately
five minutes. (This may be based on the research
essay or report, and delivered to a nominated
audience.)

Proposals 10%

Draft a 500-700 word proposal as a preparatory
exercise for the report assessment. This should be
in the form of a submission, describing the task,
and the ways in which you are going to approach it.

Report

Write a formal 1500-2000 word analytical report to include:

- Title Page
- Table of Contents
- Introduction
- Conclusion
- Recommendations
- Body of Report
- Appendices
- Bibliography.

Essay

Research and write a 600-800 word essay, to include footnotes and bibliography.

Examination

One three-hour written examination. 60%
