Description
To develop an understanding of the role of the
office as a centre for information handling and to
recognise employee's responsibilities for the
efficient functioning of the office.

To widen a student's knowledge of office procedures
and to apply in an organised and efficient way the
practical skills, concepts and knowledge acquired.

To develop personal and social awareness of topical
and continuing current affairs both local and
overseas including people in the news, political
events, sporting events, economic trends and
sociological concerns.

1 One two-hour assessment paper to assess the Office Procedures
consisting of a total of five questions including one question from each of the
five main topic areas. 50%

2 An assignment of five essays (200/250 words) to be given over the
semester. One essay to be set from each of the five specified current affair
areas:

- People in the news 10%
- Political events 10%
- Economic trends 10%
- Sporting events 10%
- Sociological concerns 10% 50%

NOTE: In order to pass this subject, students are required to obtain a
pass in both areas.
