Delivery of the site analysis component of this module should take place in
real on-site situations on site visits for both observation and participation.
Some group activities may be necessary on site.

Delivery of the design and drafting components of this module to take place in
a classroom or facility of sufficient size, set up as a drawing office with
drawing boards, suitable drawing office stools, tee-squares, special drawing
equipment, plan printer and suitable paper and film sufficient for all the
learners to be working at once.

There must be a selection of plans of different types of landscaping projects
for the learners to examine. Class sets of some plans would be desirable.

Good lighting is essential for all work stations so that learners can draw and
read fine lines and lettering.

Learners to provide their own pens, pencils, erasers, compass, protractor, set
squares and scale

Internal Assessment 100%

This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
learner achievement.

The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.

Appropriate learning outcomes may be grouped together for assessment purposes.

Assessment will be based on an appropriate selection of the following methods:

- short oral explanations of procedures
- longer written and/or oral tests
- practical demonstration of the drafting skills required
- application of elements and principles of design
- preparation of a site plan and landscape design.
