NOTES:

Students undertaking the project subjects will be guided in their study by the
Project Co-ordinator. This person will be a TAFE lecturer in agriculture who
will be responsible for all students undertaking the Project Planning and
Project subjects and will fulfil the following general roles:
- overall supervision of all students' projects;
- counselling all students on project choice;
- monitoring all student's progress by way of -
- student assignments in literature project;
- student submissions during project planning and execution;
- answers to queries raised by co-ordinator;
- site visits to students in the field;
- providing constructive criticisms of students' work to
guide student towards final completion;
- liaison with Department of Agriculture officers and other
technical specialists.
- liaison with other TAFE staff involved with the student.

As well as the project Co-ordinator, each student
will be provided with at least one liaison officer.
The role of this person is to provide specialist
information relevant to the student's project topic.
This person would also provide administrative
assistance with the provision of resources necessary
for project completion. (For example, in the case
of students who are Department of Agriculture
employees, this person or persons will be nominated
by the Director of Management Services.). The above
group of two or three people shall be called the
Project Supervision Panel.

- Final assessment of the project shall be by the
Agricultural Project Panel. This project panel shall consist of three persons.

- a senior staff member of TAFE (Agriculture study area) -
or nominee of the Superintendent
- the Project Co-ordinator
- a Department of Agriculture Staff member or another
appropriate person nominated by the TAFE Superintendent of Agriculture

- On commencing the Project Planning subject, the student
shall indicate the general area of interest within which the project is
proposed. The Co-ordinator shall then arrange for a suitable liaison officer to
be appointed.

- Liaison between student, Co-ordinator and liaison officer
will be extremely important during these units as the Co-ordinator must become
familiar with the project undertaken and the co-ordinator by each student (by
way of written queries and site visits by the co-ordinator.)

- Students would be expected to seek guidance and assistance
from the Project Co-ordinator whenever necessary. It is envisaged that few (if
any) students will not pass the project stage. The variable will be the time
for completion.
