Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit
- Perform works to a professional standard on three different occasions
- Critically inform on acting skill development
- Use advanced acting techniques and methodologies.
Context of and specific resources for assessment The following examples provide assessment conditions appropriate for this unit:
- peer/ 3rd party reports of simulated performance
- evaluation of practice or live or recorded performances
- verbal or written questioning to test knowledge as listed in the required skills and knowledge section of this unit
- direct observation of candidate practising and performing acting skills.
Method of assessment
Assessment methods should closely reflect workplace performance demands as far as possible. Where real live performance opportunities are not available simulated performance can be offered. It is important for assessment that delivery of the unit offers multiple opportunities for practice and performance of acting skills at a professional level.
