State Implementation and Classification
Description
This qualification reflects the role of performers working or aspiring to work professionally within the performing arts industry. At this level individuals are expected to apply theory and creative skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex technical operations and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but generally well-defined parameters. At this level the individual will have a broad knowledge of various facets of performing arts and can participate in a wide variety of performing arts as an ensemble and featured performer. The performer will have specialized skills in area of major, including high-level practical and technical applications.
Schedule
Candidate is to complete:
- Sixteen (16) core units
- two (2) elective units:
- one (1) unit from Group A
- one (1) unit from Group B
- twelve (12) specialised units
- Musical Theatre specialisation:
- eleven (11) specialised core units, plus
- one (1) unit from Group C,
- Commercial Dance specialisation:
- ten (10) specialised core units, plus
- one (1) unit from Group D, and
- one (1) unit from Group E.
