Description
To provide an experiential means for the students to
explore rhythm concepts.

To provide an opportunity for students to explore
their innate sense of rhythm and to use it in
performances.

To enable and encourage students to broaden their range of musical expression
and to foster the development of their individual style.

To provide students with knowledge of a range of
untuned percussion instruments.

Attendance. 10%

On-going weekly assessment of instrument knowledge,
sight-reading, contribution to ensemble and
punctuality. 20%

Individual sight-reading tests after six hours and
twelve hours of tuition (10% each). 20%

End-of-course test. 50%

Ensemble performance of unseen percussion score
which comprises rhythmic patterns covered throughout
the semester.
