Description
To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to diagnose faults in and repair the vehicle security systems found on locally produced and imported light motor vehicles. These systems involve the electronic control of various functions of the vehicle which inhibit the ability to start and run the engine and/or move the vehicle. Some systems are vehicle manufacturer installed or supplied as aftermarket units, while others are supplied as off the shelf units by various security system manufacturers.
