Description
To enable students to gain knowledge of a variety of medical conditions, their
treatment and resources available in the community to meet the needs of the
general population including specific needs groups with such conditions.

Assignment 50%

A report of approximately 1,500 words on a topic chosen from the areas covered
in this unit.

Report to include:

-a description of the condition
-implications for the person with the condition/disability
-practical issues - management and care.

Examination 50%

A two hour examination consisting of short and extended answer questions.

Students must pass both sections of assessment.
