Description
To provide the student with the skills to apply the
techniques of quantitative analysis/management
science/operations research to a limited variety of
organisational decision-making situations.
To demonstrate how each technique works, discuss the
assumptions, limitations and applicability of the
models, and illustrate the real-world usefulness of
each technique with applications in both
profit-making and non-profit organisations.
To demonstrate the role of the computer as an
integral part of the application of model building.
To adopt a non-rigorous mathematical approach and
wherever possible study the model from a geometric
and intuitive point of view to reveal the underlying
structure of the model.
